Had a few hours before dark Sunday afternoon, so I decided to head down to Cedar Creek to build a couple brushpiles. I had a few limbs around the house, and quickly picked up a good mess from a neighbor who had done a bunch of trimming. Anyway, there have been a lot of posts asking about how we sink brush, etc...so I put together a picture story on how I sink brush. I have posted it on my website. The direct link is: http://www.duckjerkyoutdoors.com/graphs.htmlHope this helps those with questions

Great pics Duck Jerky. I've been curious about how to sink a good brushpile and this really helps.
Fish tremble at the mere mention of my name!

Excelent post DJ, thanks for taking time to share that with us. One question - On your last pic is the brush pile the narrow tall thing to the left or the more rounded one to the right that looks amazingly like a perky, nubile, ah well you know what I mean. Or, are they both brush piles just with different shapes?
thanks,
Jon

Jon Jon, The image to the left is the side of a brushpile. The mound on the right is the side of a hump that the brush is sitting off of.

Appreciate the info DJ. With the wind today at 35-40 mph Gusts. I suspect there will be a few more brushpiles made. I got a few limbs in the yard already . Thanks

Does it matter if the brush has been dead for a while, or do you only use freshly cut brush? Seems a lot of the smaller limbs will break off of the dead stuff during the building and transit.

I normally use freshly cut brush. If the limbs break off easily...I don't sink it Gerally, I don't let limbs sit for more than a couple days before I sink it.

Thanks for posting this! I've been wanting to do this, but was not sure exactly how I really wanted to do it. You just made it simple. Good Job
