RAMP! Nope don't have any pics but just wanted to remind folks. Headed over to that Lake Muenster after work yesterday to put in a little more time on that little lake. Been over there a couple of times and keep having more success each time I go over there and have barely even explored it - that thing is full of little bass, quantity is no problem and there's a few grown up ones. Anyhow, that's got to be one of the most wooded-woody lakes I've fished in - like taking Southlake or Crockett and replacing the lilly pads with trees! Anyhow, I put in at the ramp about 7 p.m. and work my way north and catch a ton of dinks - all on green pumpkin baby brush hawg. Headed back about dusk and see there's a few local young folks on the dock at the ramp with a flashlight and they are trying to get my attention. Finally I get close enough (bout 10 yards from them) to hear what they are saying. I dang sure hear the word "SNAKES" and stopped my paddle immediately. They tell me not to come into the ramp because it's full water moccasins. They are shining their light on them - said they could see about five or six right where I would have paddled in a stepped out!! They said they were use to seeing them all the time there and said they always come up in bunches in the late evening to that ramp area. If they wouldn't have been there I sure enough would have paddled right into them and stepped right in the middle of them. I paddled down to the side of the ramp a little ways and didn't see any squiggly critters so jumped out of my yak onto shore. Yep, sure enough you could see them slithering all around the rocks there at the ramp. Anyhow, that lake might just be a real haven for them given how woody and clear it is. Nevertheless, keep your eyes peeled and your lights (if you have one) focused when coming in when the sun sets and the temps cool off. Those kids did me a great favor! I hate snakes and I hate spiders!

When I was a kid I heard stories about water skiers falling off into a ball of moccasins and getting killed.

Boy Todd, now that creeps me out! My wife won't even let me tell her of this ordeal. I came home and spouted off 'Hon, you want to hear a gross scary story' and that ruined it. She shut her ears and forbid me to tell her. I remember one of those guys at the ramp saying '[censored], now I'm gonna have nightmares'! Next time I will try to get some pics. Wait, not sure if there will be a next time grin

I would rather die finding out there was no God than die finding out there is.
