I can't remember where to get fuel/Ice etc. When I go mid like area I stop at a shell station, but its further north once you turn on 692 or whatever that road is as I recall. I thought I remember another place on the left somewhere around the dam but I may have dreamed it. I didn't forget, I just didn't remember !

Thanks, Billy

Thanks for the info...It confirms the desolate look from overhead on GE. I am thinking my good ole bro is putting mama and I up at his house in Lake Charles, cut the frustration of the bass boat owner/motel stay nightmare, drive back and forth the hour each day to that SW corner ramp, and move onto the next thing I will forget at the house until I am 100 miles away....I mean I try to fish what is left of Choke 2-3 x a wk so not too much different of a drive? Unless my calcs are off?

Thanks, Billy Blazer for starting this thread as I was looking for the exact info you posted, along w a few others that added good info down the line, and it happened to be maybe top 3 new threads. Cheers, Troy250 and Jaret L as well.

Going into any hellish drive to paradise I would like to cut as many loose ends as poss before I even leave the driveway.

Thanks, All, and wherever you fish next I hope they're there and they are the same color as a 20 dollar bill!

Billy, there are no gas stations near this ramp. You should gas up near Rayburn. The closest to the ramp is the Shell you refer to at 87 & 3315. Good luck to all you guys.

Coming from Rayburn just hit a store over there before you come over. There are 2 on LA side within 5 miles or so of the 255 ramp. One is off 191 on the right north 5-6 miles. The other you hang a right off 191 about a 1/2 mile above the dam and it's 5 miles away, the road is 392 I believe.

If you are just wanting to stay near the south end try South Toledo Bend State Park, about a mile from the dam. Great cabins and boat launch also. If your on the Texas side Fin N Feather in Housen is great or Big Bass Marina on the LA side is a good choice. Both of these are up the lake 10-15 miles, but near really popular fishinh areas

Great to see a T-bend thread and so many folks coming fishing. Good luck!

I like fishing out of Big Bass Marina, good folks that run the place.

Darold suggested it to me a few months back.

Thanks BD

Thanks, Billy

Troy,

I did make a trip over on Friday Morning. I had to get back to work, so only got to fish and look things over until about 10:45 or 11. I didn't catch any fish but did miss a good fish on a spook about my 3rd cast.

I found the boat lane that runs across to toward the dam, I guess you could say the end of the dam. kinda by a house or two in a cove.

Next time I want to go left when you pass the island and head over to that big creek, can't remember the number.

Thanks, BD

Thanks, Billy

The fishing was good last Thurs eve Billy, but the cool weather shut it down a lot Fri and Sat, so don't feel bad. If you go to the left you will run the lane into Indian Creek, Buck Creek and wherever north you want to run. Hope you enjoyed your trip to TB. The south end is really neat in my opinion.
