EasyMoney, friend or not that will be the last time you are on the show. You don't get to outfish Bill and come back unless you have an aluminum boat and promise to take him to the Ray Hubbard River or to Kickapoo!!!

Don't know if Bill gets them for free or not buy I cringed when he snapped that rod.

I only have a few must see shows and Honey Hole is one of them. First time to see Murvaul, it looks awesome.

I dont exaggerateI just remember BIG !!!

Then I guess its true what they, "all fisherman lie" because I couldn't have been misinformed by some of our Murvaul regulars.

Well, dang, Bill is actually human! Not to make light of people's mistakes, but it makes me feel a little better. I am not the only one that does bone-headed stuff and messes up my things!!!

It's a totally different lake that it was a few years ago. Aggressive stocking and the slot has really turned this old lake around, not the lake it was back in the '70's or early 80's YET but you can catch fish on it again.

Are there any cabins to stay in on or near the lake (closer than a hotel in Carthage)?

Doodlebug's Marina on Murvaul has cabins, good ramps, boat docks and fising dock. Good cafe about a mile from there. Lake is full but stay in the lanes.

The last two weeks have been really good shows. My 7 year old thought the previous week was great because he was so impressed with the young boy catching fish. I was a little disappointed though to have to sit there and remind him that when talking to an adult you say "yes sir" and "no sir". I'm sure the boy's father had a little talk with him after viewing the show, at least I hope he did.

I have spent the past 50 years spitting in their mouths...increasing the size of Texas fish with every spit!

Does this lake still have really good hydrilla under the bridge? I fished a club "Classic" there back in the mid-90's and the grass was great!

Also I guess we must have stayed in the cabins at Stovall Marina as they were right near the boat ramp near the dam. At the time, they looked like they had not been remodeled since the lakes hay day in the 70's or 80's. That was almost 20 years ago so maybe now they have been improved.

Fun little lake!

Not as much grass there as it used to have, grass carp have eaten most of the hydrilla.

Great show on one of my favorite lakes. Grew up fishing on her and have tons of memories there.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways with a fishing rod in one hand, 10# LMB in the other, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and yelling "Wow! What a Ride!

I was kidding, i love that lake. I literally cut my teeth learning to fish out there. We have a lake house on the north shoreline close to the marina, been in our family since the 60's. I've caught a lot of toads out there. Ill be out there this weekend.
