I heard that white bass taste better then hybrids. That is for sure and that is why I give any that I keep to my neighbor. If I keep a hybrid I eat it fresh. I think stripers taste better than hybrids. For all the catch and release fanatics I think they need to petition the state to reduce the limit or stock more. After all it is a put and take fishery. I guess we could just let them all die from old age.

Texas has been getting my money since I turned 17 on license fee, don't forget all the taxes on fishing stuff also. So your D@# straight I'm going to take every legally caught fish home, no mater how they got there.

Only difference I have noticed is the texture..Putting fish any fish directly on ice when caught is sooooo much better than a fish basket or sometimes even a live well since when they get crowded in there they are hard to keep alive...When you do clean them take a few minutes to trim off the dark red vein in the hybrids it has lots of oily fishy taste..Some people like the strong taste but I don't..Also soaking the fillets in salt water and ice will get even more oil and blood out of the meat..Eating them fresh is best but if yo0u freeze them the blood colors the water in the bag and you get the strong taste though out the meat..Best to just keep enough for dinner and return the rest

Since hybrids don't reproduce and we had to create a non profit club to help keep our fishing good. I think people that consistently keep the fish we paid for should join our club and contribute. We are a great group of close friends and we have room for more. We want everyone to fish, catch, and eat or release. Doesn't matter to us. TPW doesn't stock enought for the pressure the lake gets. We need a little help and you get to hang with really great guys. Please feel free to reach out to any of us and we will welcome you in and put you on fish.
There is a reason why twokini is one of the best lakes in Texas. That's because to the lake tawokini sportsmens association. Those guys lead the charge. Please support them also.
