Anyone know if the specs have shown up under the lights, or if they are still there? It's been a few years since I've been down, but I've spend many summer nights tearing up specks on that bridge... Any tips would be great!

Yes - they are still there. Soft plastics or live shrimp will be the ticket.

Some large drum have been caught there as well.

Some good bank or wade fishing spots for reds or trout as well in the area.

we definitely didn't get anything that big. We killed the specs Wednesday 8/6... My son and I caught about 70 specs under the lights, Thursday we caught 5. I love that place, have tons of memories speck wreckin' there when I was growing up!

How many lights in were you for specks? Live shrimp or plastic?

Hmm I've driven over that bridge a 100 times but never fished it. So throwing soft plastics at night works? Glow ones?
Free line or cork the shrimp? Are y'all fishing off the pier that goes all the way across copano?

Edge of lights #1-3... free line live shrimp with a slow retrieve, Wednesday we tore em up, Thursday not so much. I spent my whole teenage years summers down their doing that a few times a week with my grandparents. Works abundantly more times then not.

We wore the big black drum out in June. Live crabs at the first three lights at night. We caught 4 each night. I don't think small drum swim there. Everything we caught was over 30 pounds.

If the specks were running we woujld have targeted them, but they weren't in yet. So we just wore out the big boys. It was fun.
