quite a few species of fish in Bardwell, knowing what you are targeting might help with answers. Also if you are fishing from bank or have a boat.

If you will post this question in the crappie forum you will get some good advice I think,,but don't feel to bad this has been a bad year for crappie fishing for most of the Dfw area lakes,I can't speak for the cat fishing but I'm sure someone will step up and help you out.

I made one 30 minute drift middle of the afternoon last Saturday, caught 3 small blues. I only use fresh shad or other cutbait. I drifted from the roadbed north until I was in about 7' of water, 3 fish came from closer to the road bed. I wasn't really there to fish so I didn't have my anchors or I would have anchored up by the roadbed and given it a shot. I don't normally fish for Crappie.

I used to crappie fish over there quite a bit. Not alot of structure to be found. You can catch fish on the bridge year around, plus the shade is nice.

Rip rap at the damn normally holds some bass this time of year. As will the bridge and roadbed. I haven't fished the lake for bass in a long time, but when I did it was with texas rigged worms and crankbaits.

There are a lot of sunken brush piles in there. If you have a good graph you will find them. Check the cove between observation point and the dam. The cove just north of mustang typically holds some cats, love park cove holds some cats too.

After checking the stocking history for hybrid. Back in 2010 TPWD stocked 1.9 million bass palmetto (Fry) you would think those hybrids would be legal size and easy catch by now. But no...I went there once and I didn't catch any. Wonder why. Does anyone here has an answer? Sorry didn't meant to jack your thread.

2 weeks ago I found good gizzard shad in about 10-14' of water, mouth of Mott park cove. Haven't seen too many threadfin shad there since this past winter.
