I have no idea what's it's worth. Are you sure you want to sell? I just got started and know how much dough you have wrapped up.

Be careful CL, I've seen just recently guys getting into tying AGAIN after 10-20 years of non interest & they discovered that since they sold everything at "GARAGE SALE" prices, their desire to return to the "Dark Side" was gonna be VERY EXPENSIVE, stop & consider, it may be in your blood & you'll likely return....someday. I did after over 30 years away.

Let me say this, if your tying just for a profit and to make money, sell it all! If your tying for enjoyment then hang in there, but once I got so busy that I jucpst couldn't keep up and I mean being behind any where from 8 to 12 weeks behind for several years without a let up, is something that made me think of quitting. However I was talking about quitting the selling end and now that I guided this down to the point I am not always tying for someone, I am enjoying it more again.
Keep in mind I started this for something to do, not make money and actually my intent never went to the making money side and in truth, if you don't work harder at this than any job out there, your not going to make a real living, not from this alone! I say never tie for the money or your sure to quit! Anyone that thinks they can save money tying their own jigs is just leading themselves down the path of non truth!

What Skip said, I cannot see how you can actually make money at tying jigs.... now if you enjoy tying, and can sell a few here and there to use the $$ to re-invest into material, then it may be worth it. I go through spells of being burnt out etc, I believe we all do, it's just like any hobby.
Best of luck.

I was tying quite a bit just for myself but last month I was not interested in tying anything because I was setting up a business venture for myself. Once that got accomplished and I had some time to tie a few, I found it to be very relaxing and kinda fun all over.
I started tying my own because I wanted something to do instead of watching tv at night and thought it would be cool to catch on my own jigs. I also like that if a hear a certain color is working or if I see something that looks cool to me, I can try to copy it right then and not have to search, buy and then wait for it.
I do it for myself and not for profit but I would imagine that I will always have my supplies in case I want to knock out a few for what ever reason.

thanks thats a great point skip pepop ect. im be smart and take yalls adice you guys have probably been tying longer than ive been alive [13 years] Close, been tying for a little over 10 years now. Since crappie happy said that I will add a little to what he said about sell some to get more materials. I never made a profit on a year, never! I did buy one heck of a lot of tying materials and not just jig stuff, lost of nice capes and saddles and a good many of them dry fly quality. So this tying for something to do, my main reason to start in the first place. I had been trading the stock market for some 15 years or so and got tired of it after I had Open Heart surgery, not sure what difference that made, but some for sure. Anyway I decided to just quit and closed my trading accounts and all, just quit. I had been on a computer researching and looking for stocks 10 or 12 hours a day for years and after that I never could get back the desire and drive that took. However once I quit and even though I live on the water, still what was I going to do with all this time??? I was not going to watch TV all day and can't really fish every day all day, so I decided to try tying a few crappie jigs and people liked them. There was not so many of us back then, hardly more than just a few on every good crappie site no matter how large, just not that many tying. Anyway it got too busy and I couldn't stop it unless I did some big changes and even tell everyone I was stopping or at the very lest slowing down a lot. At 13 you have a entire life in front of you and who knows where that will take you? Maybe you will even take up fly fishing and then your really into some very cool type tying and a lot of fun. Just stop trying to make money tying. Have fun with it and make your money doing something else!

13 years old? Listen up young man. DO NOT, sell your stuff because you will regret it. Go to walmart and get you a storage container and put it in your closet. One of these days, you will be happy you kept it. What little bit of money you would get for it isn't worth selling it.
