Had to share my little story with you guys...first off if my screen name didn't give it away, I'm a die hard crappie fisherman.....DIE HARD. I'm fortunate enough to do business with some guys that have the similar interest. So when my phone rings and they ask if I wanna fish Fork, you don't say no! Met up with Lake Fork guide James Caldemeyer this morning and broke the ice by introducing myself as an avid crappie fisherman, and was curious what kind of knife he used for cleaning bass rolfmao the look he have me was "please not one of these guys" but I couldn't keep a straight face....joke ruined. We set out to an undisclosed locations an hit a few spots...As we fished we chit chatted and carried on and James was explaining lake patterns and the recent bites and how when the temperature climbed....so would our chances for some big sows...as the morning pushed on,the clouds hung around, and the wind shifted out of the north.....being a crappie fisherman, I worried that changing weather may mean a change in plans...We went in for lunch and shot the breeze...when we stepped out it was sunny and HOT! Too a honey hole we go!!! We marked GOOD fish...James insisted they were there, we just had to convince them to bite...he tuned our technique and pointed us in the right direction to cast to hit the structure these fish were laying wait in....And then it happened....a little bump and my line got heavy...picked up my slack and BOOM! Set the hook in what felt like a stump! But as soon as my rod doubled over and the drag started screaming.....we knew. My Personal best to date...8lbs 9oz! Are you kidding! Smiling from ear to ear...my day couldn't get any better....or could it? Very next cast....bump....line gets tight...hook set! And now I have buried my hook into another stump...until the rod doubles over and drag is RIPPING off this Abu! James immediately grabbed the net and said, "that's a double digit!" I knew she was big and heavy....much heavier than my 8+ I JUST caught, but really? 2 GIANTS back2back!? And when she surfaced....I think time stopped. Fish landed....in two casts I've broken my personal best and joined the DD club....10lbs 4oz!! We're done...this can't be topped!!! Wrong! 3 casts later my buddy has drag ripping from his reel....another 8 and change!!! By far my best day on the water.3 "OVERS"..never knew how you bass guys were so addicted to fishing all day to catch a handful of fish and then let them go....I NOW GET IT!!!! Huge thanks to James Caldemeyer!!! By far the most amazing day I've ever had on the water. Don't typically promote anything or know if I'm even allowed to, but I don't play by the rules anyway...this is my second trip and I'm already planning my next. http://www.officiallakeforktrophybass.com/ thanks again James!

WTG. Thats a beaut. Wait for the day when you hang one of those while you're crappie fishing. Talk about your drag screamin!

Great Fish!

Go back to Crappie, you can't beat that... Unless you are fishing for Crappie on the bridges during ShareLunker Season! Then you are Guaranteed Greatness. woot
