I'd be a great guide. I guided my ex wife right in a hog pen.

I was thinking about this the other day. I took a buddy and his kid fishing on Fayette a few weeks ago. I was on fish and just KNEW we could catch them. We went to a few spots throughout the day and they were stacked in there. I caught around 15 solid 3-4# but for the life of me could not help them catch a single fish. It made me realize that if I were a guide they could easily bad mouth me about how the trip sucked, couldn't catch any fish, etc etc but the bottom line is that they just flat sucked. I told them and showed them everything they needed to know to at least catch 1 fish that day and it didn't happen.
So yea.. cheers to all the guides out there making it happen. It'll never be for me.

Not only could i not be a guide, but i wouldnt want to. Fishing is where i go to get away from work and relax, having the pressure of putting clients on fish or teaching them how to fish would probably ruin it for me.
But fishing multiple times a week isnt half bad haha

I have taken many out, I'm not a guide but I do get paid to do a few trips a year. Its hard finding fish that everyone can catch, even on Fayette, at least for bass that is. Some just want to catch others want to learn. I feel terrible when I do these trips and they catch nothing, I could never do it full time.

I used to want to be a fishing guide when I was a teenager. I changed my mind after trying to teach my cousin how to fish and him throwing away about $40 worth of my baits into the lake.

I think so. I'd like to be, some day. I think what I really lack is FISHING and finding abilities. I could deal with the people quite well, I believe.

I thought I could in my younger days. Being older and wiser today I know now that it takes alot more skill and patience than I have. I have used several guides and never had a bad trip but some were better than others. Used to have a cabin at PK, guy that lived next door was a striper guide. I have never seen anyone work harder in their life than this guy. He would be up at 3am to go catch bait for his clients, meet them at 6:30am and then take out another group at 1pm. I used to joke with him about joining the Union.

I could do it. Mainly for the reasons RBO stated. Watching someone catch a fish and that smile afterwards is awesome. My only problem would be not fishing while out there. How can you go on the water and not fish? I just can't do it. It would be tough on those days where the fish aren't biting and you have to face a dissatisfied customer. That would probably cause me to go broke because I wouldn't be able to charge them or I would be giving them a free trip.
