I ended up with fourteen inches at my house and it looks like Roberts only came up about two feet. Seems like a hurricane is what it's going to take to get it back to normal.

Almost all that rain in Sanger flowed into Lewisville, via Clear Creek. LL is up almost two feet. Still not enough to open the Oak Point boat ramp.

Waiting on Bob Davis' next selfie

I swear some of you people shoot out the lights but curse the dark. We are in a severe drought, ill take the rain whichever way mother nature chooses to give it!

It rained for 14 hours at my place up towards Bowie. My pond came up 12 feet-it needed it. I had a tree pushed down my creek and it crossed and landed on my road-had to chain it out to get out of my driveway. Almost got stuck in my driveway-had to put it in 4WD twice to get out. It was a mess but yes we needed it and I am thankful we got it.

YOUR*

Seriously though, were on track to surpass the historical drought of the 1950s and your over here complaining because it "came all at once." It's just textbook arrogance if you ask me. People all over the state are hurting, certain watersheds are at historical lows, and ground water levels are dropping dramatically due to a variety of factors including the drought. As much as everyone would like an ideal constant rain that is just hopeful wishing. Weather is unpredictable especially in Texas. That's like finding a 50 dollar bill on the ground and being ticked cause it isn't a 100. There are a lot more things to worry about that can and will effect generations of the Texas population when it comes to water resources. Our population is projected to double by 2050 so please, there are more things to worry about than a little inconvenient flood. In the end, yes a flood is not ideal but it's better than nothing and is only a fraction of what is going to be needed to fill back up to normal levels.

That came out of nowhere. I don't think anyone was 'complaining.' Just observing and opining. Maybe you should stick to decaf. bolt

You are calling me out on a grammatical error that is obviously an auto correct issue and you are preaching to me about arrogance?

Seriously though, I hope YOUR house floods next time and I hope, as you are removing ruined furniture, hardwood floors and carpet, someone - who was not affected by the flood - tells you it's just a little " inconvenience ".

It appears browning is ashamed of where he is from. He doesn't have it listed in his profile.

So because I don't have a location your assumption is I am ashamed? That truly is an idiotic assumption, respectfully. Born and raised in Belton, TX. Tarleton State grad 2011 in Water Resources and currently in the process of finishing a masters in Water Quality and Management at Texas A&M. So I currently live in college station, gig em. I have worked internships with the BRA, corp of engineers, and a few other regulatory agencies in the area of water resource control and management. With that being said I would think that would give me a little more credibility when it comes to this topic.

As for mac, yes I am so sorry for your inconvenience. There are parts of the state that would kill to have any precipitation at all, especially the southern part. But you are so right, if that were to happen to me it would completely be upsetting but then I would remember that the world does not revolve around me and that having to move a little furniture is a small price to pay for the many conveniences we are fortunate enough to have, one being running water which could pertain to this and the abundant natural resources we have, at the moment, compared to other places. I somewhat do not blame you as you and others here are obviously very blind to the crisis that we face in the near future if we do not turn towards better water conservation practices or much needed heavy precipitation. Arrogance, ignorance, or just plain selfishness; call it what you want.

And lastly sir, when your water bill shoots through the roof because we are in the midst of severe water shortage prohibiting you from watering your very own lawn and the rule of capture is taken out of effect I hope you remember this conversation and the minor flood that was such a huge inconvenience. Its a double edged sword.

Check mate. thumb

Yeah you are so right, I am a complete idiot for calling an individual out on their arrogance. I guess I should just quit my graduate program and swallow my 3.8 gpa because I get called a waste by some old timer with a mediocre sad life. The thing is I bring up research and a logical argument against your no other than arrogant viewpoint.

Now, let me get this straight. You claim that I am being arrogant because of my concerne about people loosing thier personal property due to a flood. Other people on this forum expressed the same concerns. So, in effect, you are calling every one on this forum this is concerned for their fellow man - " arrogant ". Boy you are an idiot. As for me - my house, truck, boat and camper are paid for. I have no debt. I live in a quarter of a million dollar home in the country, less than fifteen minutes from my favorite lake. I have. Lovely wife, the best son a man could ask for and two good dogs. I have a job that I enjoy going to with a great boss that lives to fish and understands when a guy has to " call in sick " because the fish are biting. I get to fish just about any afternoon I want with my father who is retired and lives to cast a fly( he also taught me not to be self centered and over emphasize my percieved importance - something you obviously lack). I also have a group of friends that are pretty cagey with a fly rod and are of the character that you can't put a dollar sign on - something that me more wealthy than you will ever be. So, my life mediocre? Maybe... But sad - not even close. I may not have a 3.8 GPA but I am smart enough to know that you are a snot nose kid that thinks he's better than everyone else. Which just proves my point that you are an idiot and I'm through wasting my time with you.
