Can this be done without excessive line twist, going from 1 baitcaster to another?

Makes a good argument for using the same type of reels. Then you just remove the spool and install it on the other.

Or just switch reels instead of spools

do it all the time , also reverses the line .
that way you wear out both ends.
no line twist on a baitcaster

I do it and I've never noticed anymore line twist than normal.

I've done it many times. I'm able to get the most bang for your buck, especially with expensive fluoro. In reality, most people don't get to the line at the bottom of the spool, but by switching the line from spool to spool it's almost like you're using new line.

all...the...time. Little tip, you can get the small loops out of the fluoro by tying or hooking to a tree 50 yards or more and wedge in truck door with good tension. Takes the loops out. Just don't leave it out in the sun too long. I do it with braid to get to some greener line, no need to stretch it.

I actually just did this recently and had a little bit of issue with memory (NOT line twist 2 totally different things) ANd all it took was a good spray down with some KVD and a few casts and the line is good to go.
