i know this is a short notice but all my son wants to do is go fishing and catch fish before he goes back to school. i know fishing isnt a guarentee but ive always caught fish at twak but granted that was later in the year. where we live in oklahoma most lakes are bad low, and the few weve went to we struck out and he get depressed lol. i talked to a guide that has an opening sat but have never used him just happen to see where he had an ad posted on craigslist here in oklahoma. he didnt sound all that positive during the phone call, but the rate of 250 for 3 of us to go fishing didnt sound to bad. i dont know if i should post the guides name on here but would like yalls opinion on if we should make the 6 hr trip, or if you know a guide that is recommendable. i have been with 2 other guides but have thought about making a change

It is worth the trip. Channels are easy right now to catch so numbers should not be a problem.

Micheal and Teri Littlejohn! Best guideservice on the lake in my opinion. Pay for a full day and u will limit on channels with plenty of time to go chase hybrids and sandies!!!!! I uses them for a bachelor party in September 2012 and we had blues of 29lb, 34lb's and 43lb's. He has a fishing cabin also that u can stay in for like 75 bucks.
I dont fish for a living but i LIVE TO FISH!

Altus? Yeah you won't catch anything in that puddle for a while. Last time I was on that lake was early 2013. Covered about 3 miles in the yak. Didn't see a single fish on sonar. There was a bad fish kill that winter on top of the lack of water. It'll take years for that lake to recover. If you just want fun for your son, thats closer, the ponds on the wildlife refuge have lots of bluegills. Pm me if you want more info.

Thanks guys...fishing is excellent right now. We just got in from family vacation up in Oklahoma and am glad to be back in the saddle. Don't have a trip till Friday so tomoerow is yard work then towing tha kiddos on tha tube.
I've talked to Evan a few times but never had the opportunity to fish with him. $250 for 3 is cheaper than us!

The secret is catch a bunch of threadfins, find channels in about 30fow and use small circle hooks(1/0-2/0) straight down about 3 cranks off the bottom, we got into them good about 600yds out of holiday marina

Oh it's by no means my "secret spot" lol just a spot stacked with channels and blues we found cruising around for sandbass, if you have some decent electronics look for suspended fish 3-10ft of te bottom and most likely those are catfish
