In the next year I'm buying a very simple open layout center console such as a Parker or Judge. It will be used offshore but I live in Weatherford and don't want it to sit when we aren't at the coast. However, I don't think the Brazos or Weatherford Lake is ideal for this type of open water boat. Lol. And Eagle Mountain is way low. Just looking for good lakes to run a boat like this.
I recently sold an 18ft Bay boat which was more ideal for shallow areas but I couldn't get offshore much with it which is my passion. Don't care much for inshore saltwater fishing.
Thanks

I'm picking up a Sportsman Masters 247 next month. I live in Kaufman. You'll find me at Cedar Creek, Ray Hubbard, Fork, Texoma and any place else I choose to fish.

Never been on any of them. Thanks for the tips. I wasn't sure which lakes around were big water. I would have thought fork was to stumpy. That's just the impression I've always gotten but know nothing about it really.

almost any of them... is that really so much different than a 20+ foot bass boat?
I see plenty of them out and about on Lewisville and other area lakes. I will say, given the specifics of your situation and preferences, my first thought is Texoma.... go out striper fishing 'offshore' to your hearts content. Plenty of waves if the wind does more than blow softly, you'll feel right at home. Open water hybrid hunting on Lewisville isn't exactly glassy smooth and calm angling experience either.
What is your specific reservation in taking the boat out on any area lake? I'm not sure I understand... my father had a 24ft we took out in the are a lakes just fine, bought specifically for texoma and striper fishing but it fished ray Roberts and such with no worries

You could run it on PK but my first choice would be Texoma
