Been doing them for months at the dealership I work at.

I've got a 2003 F250. Just missed the recall. I'm wondering now if it's just a matter of time until mine is included. Hopefully, it won't burn up between now and then.

Do they have a fix yet or are they just disabling the cruise control?

There's a fix. I did it about 2 months ago. Bought the part and did it myself.

Had mine done about a year ago when the recall was anounced. I had it in the shop for brakes and they did it while it was in. It was a pretty simple fix. I'd let them do it so they are liable.

That recall is for real I lost my 2001 Expedition due to a faulty ignition switch. It was sitting in the parking lot in front of my apartment when the hood just burst into flames. the whole truck burned up in about 10-15min. I will try to find some pics and post them.

I just had that done on my 2001 Expy, after 118k miles on my first tune up. So did Ford replace your truck or provide anything?
