What's the best crappie pattern on Lavon this month?

The best pattern would be fishing another lake... grin
Sorry, been really slow.
Some have been caught on shad... but still not much going on.

Ernest said the same thing about Lewisville. Slow to dead, is the report. rolleyes
If you still wanna try, just hunt for deeper BPs.
Good luck!
Let us know what you find.

16 feet of water, 14 to 15 feet deep on structure. Minners. Leave the jigs at home.

We managed 12 keepers Tuesday evening . I was using blue ice again.

Managed 3 keepers yesterday evening before that storm blew us off the lake. Yes it missed the water shed again. Lavon is a mess right now.

I haven't been on Lavon in months but I certainly don't find it to be the problem others do. Move around is all I can say. It is July. Leave the minnows at home. They'll hit jigs and it's no light bite. Whacking a jig when there biting. I think yesterday would have been good but that storm came out of no where.

You ain't right Tommy, you know your teasing Oscar. You have been one of the few that is always on quality fish. There is something to be said for someone who refuses to set and where out a nursery school of crappies (Dinks). Protecting the future fishery! You are the man.

Now your teasing me.

On a serious side I figured out how Richie gets those crappie to stick their fins out so pretty for a great picture. As you'll notice you can't see his right thumb. eeks

Informational guide this morning with a tough bite on bigger structure. I'm chaulking most of that up to the moon and night feeding patterns. My client was not paying to catch fish but wanted to learn the lake, how to target crappie and learn what electronics can do. After I dropped my happy client back at the ramp I had to find the fish biting and try the afternoon bite.Had to!

What I'm finding is it's still a waste of time targeting piles but submerged stumps are producing fighters. I mean target small spots that only one seasoned fisherman could find with a jig. Caught a couple at each spot 6-12' of water right off the bottom then move move move. No bigguns today but managed 12 in a little over an hour then my phone started yelling "Warning warning it's the wife calling"! eeks bolt

Oh yeah, I've tried the mono leader off my Bonehead braid a few trips now and found I DONT LIKE MESSING WITH ALL THAT. No difference in bite to me.I'll just stick with braid. All crappie released on a huge pile I saw sprout 2 nights ago.
