Anybody know any good places near Katy TX to catch big catfish from the bank, have tried SFA state park, but had no luck. thanks

Have you heard of Fishing Scout app? I've found quite a few spots around Katy and Houston with that app. You can filter it to where it shows where people have caught a certain species of fish.

I also use the Good Fish app...it's a little more user friendly to me.

You might try the three ponds in the little park area on Highway 6 at Briarpark. There is a small parking area there. You have to walk in from there across the levee. I have always thought of trying those ponds but I was either busy or it was raining. I don't have a clue if there is anything in them or not. I know there was an alligator in one years ago.

I know a guy that hauls some big cats out of Lake Houston
