I started fishing fayette last year and found no grass. This year I am seeing it come back. Why would a fishing lake like fayette kill off all grass. Was it a one time mistake or is it going to happen again

Fayette is a power plant cooling lake, not a fishing lake. They will kill anything that could clog the works there at the plant. I'm with you though, I hope they don't. I remember Fayette back in the late 90's when it was covered with grass. It was a ton of fun back then. It is still a gem of a lake though, grass or no grass.

I just wish there was somewhere within 100 miles where I could go punch/drop/flip grass again. Headed out to Fayette this week, will be on the lookout for this hydrilla I have been hearing about.

Moved out this way in 97' That little power plant lake was a hot spot, for sure! The bass had a beautiful color and shaped more like footballs, short an extremely fat! Grass was not a problem to find either. Not for sure what really happened, but after the talapia stocking it hasn't never been like it was. That's just my two cents, one may have absolutely nothing to do with the other. But it was a trophy lake at one time, hope it gets back like it was
Y'all have a nice day

I was out there yesterday and several of the areas that I had found visible grass last month....were all brown now. I still found some deeper green grass....but anything that was visible was brown. Water temps were 101* so maybe it cooked it or they sprayed it.
