I have a Chevy Trailblazer (non 4x4) and wonder if this would be sufficient for pulling a bass boat...it has a towing package already installed.

Any help is certainly appreciated!

Should do just fine, look at what it is rated to pull, but I dont think you will have any problems.

only problem would be pulling the boat out of the water. Make sure you drop it into low 1st gear- as it is a lot better on the trans( more applied force to the clutch plates= less slipage)

I pull a bass boat with my cherokee that is 2 wheel drive and has a 4.0L inline 6. If you feel the tires starting to spin on the ramp, apply your parking brake Lightly, this will help keep the power even between the rear wheels.

The worst times fishing are still better than the best time thinking about it.

Our Trailblazer is a 2002 with a 24-valve DOHC in-line six-cylinder...4.2-liter.

home_built: what boat are you pulling?

yes it will work fine and i dont think you will have any problem at the boat ramp either, just be sure to tow with tow haul button on if equipped if not in third gear.Ive seen these vehicles towing 21 ft boats just be careful with that short wheel base you get alot of sway due to size of boat and wind.

I noticed while watching the FLW TV show, that they use Chevy Trailblazers to transport the boats from the ramp to weigh-in. I don't know if they use them to tow the boats cross country though.
