So I hadn't ever heard of Yellow Magic until I started reading on this forum and I'm wondering why everyone is so crazy for them. What separates them from the rest? Are they worth the cost?

I honestly can't tell you what makes it so special, it just produces fish after fish. All I can say is buy one and give it a try.

I don't know why they seem to attract fish, but I do know they have some of the sharpest hooks I've ever seen which increases hook ups.

If you will look at the post above this post; "New Yellow Magic". You will see that the baits have the ghost image on the side. When you twitch the bait, it flashes that image. It makes all the difference in attracting not only bass but big bass.
I have been putting this image on my spooks for many years and it truly makes the difference. I choose the spook because I can't make the YM. do the 180 degree turns without moving it twice as far forward. I want the bait to sit in one spot and make the turns while carrying larger hooks than the YM.

I have thrown them side by side many times where there are lots of fish to catch. When we are catching top water bass in Mexico, it can be 40 or more in the first two hours of day light. It doesn't take long to test baits and know what works best. The one with the stripe flashing that image wins out every time. I have it on all my hard baits not just my spooks. Crank baits, traps and jerk baits will all produce more with the stripe on the side.
I am just saying that I expect the new YM. to out catch the old ones because of the side image.
