Ok guys and gals of the Forum, here is the deal.

I REALLY appreciate your overwhelming support, especially once you learned the facts. You moved me from wanting to vomit and send all of the SAL fish back to the State, to being more motivated than ever about the project.

In thanks to the fishermen of the Forum, and in response to several of the suggestions made, I am going to initiate the first contest. Tomorrow at 4PM I am going to post a photograph of a creature. The first person who can give me It's scientific name, and tell me where they live, will win.

The winner gets a weekend trip to fish La Perla with me and see the Jalisco Project, along with one adult guest and up to two youth.

Here are the rules. For this first contest, the participants need to live no further South than San Antonio. Sorry South Texans, but you will get a chance on the next one I do. The trip has to happen in August, before my fall gets busy with bird hunter groups. You will arrive on a Friday evening, fish Saturday, and then we will depart early Sunday morning. I have learned that if I don't make church and then rest on Sunday afternoon, my week goes badly, so this is my routine I try to stick with.

So, there you have it. I hope to have a winner by Sunday night, but we will see!!

I think the hole thing stinks to high heaven. Those fry should be in texas public lakes. They should have let frank know what they were going to do, not let him find out by looking on the texas fishing forum. I'm not saying this to get a fight started and I'm not going to respond to the bitching that is going to follow this. I'm just speaking my mind. I think it was a bad move for texas parks and wildlife to do this this way. It will hurt the sal program.again this is one persons view on it and it don't matter. But the more I read about it the less I like it. So there is my 2 cents worth.
