Does anyone have it and is it worth the $50 ? It's hard for me to find detailed maps all the time and was wondering if it was like your card in your fish finder. Was wanting to check out spots at the house. And do you have to be on wifi to use it or does it stay on your device to use any time. Thanks for the help

I have it and it's better mapping than on a graph. Bought a RAM mount and put it beside my graph. I used it in Canada and now in Belize. Works everywhere Worth every penny

Danny can you use it off line or does it have to be connected to the net?

I have it on mine. I believe the maps will show up but the navigation part won't work off line

Some Ipads don't have GPS, so they have to use cell or wifi networks to determine location (which is not accurate enough for navigation).
Navionics for Android tablets works offline, just make sure the map is downloaded before hitting the lake.

I'm not wanting to use it on the lake really. But if I was on a trip or a passenger in a car or at work ,I just didn't want toto spend $50 and only be able to look at maps if I was online.

If i can access detailed maps on my device at any time I will buy it. A new lake map is about 15 bucks and hard to find sometimes.

I use the Navionics app on my iPhone. It costs $14.99 and might be a good, less expensive option. I use it for researching spots off water and marking GPS waypoints. I would love to use it on a bigger screen but I don't own an iPad! Here's a screenshot showing the level of detail. I can magnify it one more notch but this has some interesting details.

I use it daily, so in my case it was worth every penny of the price tag. It is nice to go to any lake you desire and you can find most major points of interest. If it is a HD lake it is even better and you can do a lot of lake studying in your recliner at home.

On the iPhone, it is not updated unless you pay more, but they sent me notice I had a year of 'plus', so I just re-downloaded "Texoma to Toledo Bend" and the Red River.
Tom, I did the same thing it appears you are doing after I watched Honey Hole this week...

Yes the app can be accessed anytime, service or not. Only time you have to have service is for Navigation mode. I ran an IPad in the dash of my 2012 Skeeter and loved it. Take a look on YouTube of the setup Scott Ashmore uses on his legend, pretty sweet option. Be sure to download the Nav+ add on so that you can take advantage of the Sonar Charts layer as well, it is the layer that has all of the user recording on it If you have any other questions feel free to ask away.

I think it would be pretty sweet having a big ol tablet with that app on a ram mount at the console.
