Tips or suggestions? We will be there all next week and try out the fly rod but if too frustrating going to revert back to spin rod so any suggested areas and or baits for both fly or spin? Thanks for any info, first time there and super excited!

leave the spin rod at home as youre more apt to give up too soon; use a jig fly; black, dark olive, pink, or white-p-

I went a couple of weeks ago. Up in Spillway Creek for me was working well was a caddis larva pattern. That is, the pattern wrapped on the hook amounted to a green larva or worm with a peacock, or black, head. That was it. They loved it. Trail that maybe with a brown midge larva (zebra-midge or thread-midge like). Or else trail the caddis larva behind Pearow's "Near Deere" (little wooly bugger guy on a jig hook. Google a "John Deere" fly. Near Deer is the same thing but not in John Deere colors. At least I think it is.) Fish that stuff DEEP in the pockets on Spillway, under an indicator. Make sure you're hugging bottom and I'll bet you'll find fish.

I'll repeat to NOT take the spinning rig. Having that as a backup option just encourages you to quit.
