Hey everyone! This is my first post and Im sorry if Im doing something wrong or posting in the wrong area. I am going on an overnight fishing trip soon and wondered if yall knew any good places in the DFW area. Looking for a lake thats not huge but big enough to have some decent places for tent camping by the water. Also I will have a kayak so I need easy bank access thats not far from the campsite. Also....good fishing would be nice. I guess alot of that depends on me. Thanks!

I would recommend Mineral Wells State Park. Also check out Purtis Creek.

I appreciate all the help! I think I may try Purtis Creek. Its a little far for me since I like in Irving but I may give it a shot.

Mineral Wells, Purtis, Meridian, RayBob, Monticello, Crockett, Coffee Mill, Whitney, Hamm Creek, Cleburne SP, Eisenhower SP...
If you were happy at Lewisville these places will be like nirvana, but you're gonna have to drive a little more...

A couple years ago we camped at Murrell Park in Flower Mound on Lake Grapevine for free (it may still be free, not sure), directly across a very small cove from Sneaky Pete's and enjoyed some live music that was pretty good that evening. We launched in that same cove in the morning and caught several nice bass within a few hundred yards.

Murrell Park is ten bucks now. I went two weeks ago and just fished from the shore in the coves. Caught a few catfish.
