Some ppl do but during the summer months but I have more success in the fall just going down the bank fishing it like a spinnerbait. And then the prime time for this is during the prespawn around from January to March. Find schooling fish, throw it out there, let it sink down to them and I use a slow steady retreive with a hard jerk about every 5 seconds

I've thought about doing this, does it work fairly well?

I throw it at schooling fish, I am thinking of throwing it with a spinning rod to get more distance

Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst
