Best is probably pretty subjective... I chose an abu Garcia veritas 7'6" cranking rod (winch rod) to fit this need in my lineup. cheap and effective paired with an orra winch 5.4:1 reel

Get something at least 7'6". I used a 7'2" all star deep cranking rod before moving to an 8' and the difference is night and day.

definately a 7-7'6" rod...med-heavy with fast tip. Check out Allstar, Falcon, St. Croix and Cast-A-Way.

As Mulholland stated...5.4:1 or 6:1 reel is just about perfect!

Most of the rods in that range are composite rods, Quantum KVD (last years model), BPS Crankin' Stick and the H20 rods, to name a few. I think the Verias Winch is graphite, so is the H20 7' 6" Ethos Heavy rod (another good option). Hope this helps.

Tight lines, good luck and keep safe.

I'd go with a Veritas or a Duckett Ghost rod

This is actually a good quality rod for a cheap price.

I've had 3 of them for years & had no problems with them.

Love my Veritas 7' 6" Winch rod for these baits and even the 10XD. Great rod and it's paired with a Lew's Tournament Pro 5.4:1 reel.

If color does not matter the Skeet Reese mag crank is a good choice
