Rubber legged dragon in olive or black is the first one is reach for. After that a floating spider.

I like small chernobyl ants and club sandwiches, each tied with long droopy legs and bright colors over dark. Drives them crazy. Little ones grab the legs and pull it under but can't get the fly in their mouths. Activity attracts the bigger ones, including bass. cool

In this life there is fly fishing and tying...and then there is all that other stuff in between that doesn't matter.

The little poppers cheep one I have found at Walmart and bass pro. The fish in pond by my casa can't stand not to grab them any time.

Cap spiders, which are spiders tied on small jig hooks with chenille bodies and rubber legs. Olive, gray, brown, black, white, chartreuse all work.

Perch eat pretty much the same thing Trout do. 1/8 to 3/4 inch long and brown or green, lol. Any trout flies you have should work for bream.
I usually fish brighter colors like white, yellow or pink foam beetles, flash-back nymphs, and anything with peacock herl.

I second the poppers from Walmart. At least for top water. Funny, they cost $11 at Walmart and $22 at BPS.

Without a doubt for me. The olive size 16 bead head scud with a shiny green flashback. I have caught thousands and thousands of bluegills, sunfish, warmouths, crappies, bass, catfish, shad, carp and blue tilapia. I am usually always targeting big bluegills when the other species decide to snack. I fish it on a 6' or less leader, cast out and let it sink for several seconds depending on water depth, longer. When I do retrieve it, I make very small 1" or less strips, occasionally stopping, then starting again. I keep logs if you're wondering where the numbers are coming from.

I took 100 bluegills/warmouths yesterday afternoon at a nearby pond on this fly using my TFO 1/2wt fly rod. Talk about fun. Just one example of how fish like this. A scud is a fresh water shrimp. Most ponds have them so they are a natural food source. I will sometimes scent them with shad spray.
