Sometimes we have to realize what's more important in life and give up the fishing

I followed this advice as well, I no longer even own a cane pole and all is good in the world.
Are you kidding me. I traded her for a new boat and truck and could not be happier .HaHa buy her a Mercedes .That's called Whipped

I must say that's a lil extreme. Take your wife fishing every now and then. Get her a new car. Let her go blow money shopping with friends. Lord knows we do fishing. I'm slowly learning.... lol.

You don't need a 30+ thousand bass boat to enjoy nature. So I call BS. When I want to enjoy nature and I'm not worried about time limits I break out the kayak. Bass boats aren't for enjoying nature. Going 60+ mph enjoying the view. That's how accidents happen.

Fishing is more of an addiction than something I do to relax. I do it because I almost have to do it. IF I don't something feels like it's missing in my life. That next bite and the mystery of what it could be keep me going and the competition between me and the fish/other anglers makes me crave the sport even more

I can't go '60MPH' but, I do enjoy BOTH. Traveling the lake at 3/4 throttle and while using the TM and fishing.
There is always something to see....and the fishing/the outdoors seem to 'refresh' the mind and then re-focus on nothing other than that 'tic' or 'tug' on the line!
I don't have any problems other than health....LOL, don't think there is much I can do about that so.... not hiding any problems!
God Bless

Fishing has always been a way to connect with people and to get to share things with friends. It has recently become something that is more than just a hobby and more of a passion. I don't get to fish very often, but when I do I cant help but feel the relief that comes with the sound of the line un-spooling on the perfect cast!

I don't fish to hide problems, but a fishing trip seems to give me a new lease on life.

If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life,
there'd be a shortage of fishing poles

Guys, think about how much money we spend to chase around a little green fish in our favorite lakes.
I have to say .... IT'S WORTH ME SPENDING MORE

I fish because I have a money hording problem. I take my check and never touch any of it. Fishing helps me cure that problem and remain flat broke as god intended.

Catching fish produces adrenaline.
Big fish produce more. This is a big part of why people like it so much. (Ever wonder why you're shaking so much when you land a mongo bass or shoot the monster white tail?)

Couple that with the peace and quiet and your ancestral hunter / gatherer roots............

can't miss.

"..The pleasantist angling is to see the fish
Cut with her golden oars the silver stream,
And greedily devour the treacherous bait.

Never really ever thought of it that way but I used to put my rig in the Ouachita River at home and sometimes never wet a hook. I'd just ride and enjoy the scenary. Sometimes I'd burn a full load of fuel just cruising, I could go places where I'd never see another boat or human for hours at a time.....usually did this after a rough week at work and when I got back to the ramp I had released all the stress......

I used to spend too much time away from my family fishing tournaments or practicing for the same. For me, it was a solitary hobby.
Now, I spend as much time as I can fishing with my family, and I realize that I don't really have any problems.
