Me and my brother in law fish marine creek quite often due to the fact its 10 min from our house. Best day we've had is 5 fish ( combined ). We try everything ( soft plastics, crankbaits, dropshot ). Does anybody have any secrets to this lake or is that as good as it gets? Thanks

It's better than Lake Worth IMO. I'd try eagle Mtn it should be kinda close.
Send it!

MC is a SAL lake, with a slot limit (which I doubt gets honored or monitored nearly well enough) and does have very nice fish in it, but has low baitfish populations and tough fishing for sure.
Yall shore fish it or from a boat? Only decent fish I have seen have been on the damn down by ski ramps and around the ramps as well

I'd be working the deeper water next to the dam for sure, and flipping the ski ramps... no clue on baitfish pattern there other than that I know they don't have as much bait as they need according to TPWD electrofishing/gill netting reports

Have 'fished' this lake some 4 times now. Just looking at the structure around and in the lake, watching the depth finder/fish finder, you can clearly see fish and good drop offs all over the place but, I have had little success. Which means absolutely nothing... Another fisherman on here 'SMERFS' has fished it more than I had he has reported to me having success early morning. Not sure where he was fishing. I continued to try the northern end of the lake, feeder creek, by the college. Lots of vegetation and shallow water. Man, it just looked like a 'frog bait haven'. Had two strikes but none in the boat. Good luck. It, as someone else on here posted, had some SAL put in the lake by TPWD. So, they are there....just harder to catch. God Bless

Lake worth is trash. I catch everything but LMB. The list is Crappie, sand bass, catfish, a hybrid, next will probably be a carp.

SOme guys can figure out Worth, I have not had a good year out there, seems to me it has changed for the worse since the dredging, but did catch a 6 out there three weeks or so ago on drop shot in about 8 ft.
I have not caught a keeper on Marine creek in at least two years. Went out the end of june and caught four small ones. Nothing deep off the road yet, but I usually dont catch them there until after 1 or so when the sun is high and I left before then.

Thanks for the info guys. Just gets frustrating when the lousy days become the routine.

Even though my dad didn't live with us he took me fishing all the time. Then we move neighborhood 5 miles from marine Creek but 125 miles from my dad. I remember passing by thinking about going fishing. Then when I hit high school then all I could think about is girls and having fun. Have you guy notice when your have fun 95% of the time something bad happens. Anyways I think as much money as they throw away they should invest in marine Creek lake. I see it inner city adults all the time that don't know how to hold or cast a fishing pole. I'm glad now that the first signs of trouble my mom sent me back to dad and living in the country.

I moved to Fort Worth 11 years ago an started fishing Marine Creek because it is so close (I can see part of the dam from my back yard). Caught some fish in the 2-3 lb. range and a bunch of small fish over a couple of years, but always found it tough overall. My background is fishing shallow oxbows and rivers so Marine Creek is a big change. Started going to Eagle Mtn. and Lake Worth and do a lot better on them overall - although both of them can be tough sometimes.
In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.
