I'm moving into a new house south of Ballinger next week. Only a stones throw from the Colorado where it feeds into the lake. I'm seeking a little advice from you fellas out that way who can turn me on to where some access points might be for some bank fishing. Looks like I'll have a new lake to figure out!

I'm willing to bet there's a few fish in there! I think I can actually access the river from behind my property, I just need to drive the field line and check it out. I know my neighbor has access for sure. I guess I need to get friendly with him! Lol.

TPWD says that the lake record blue is 30lbs on R&R, 27lb for channels, and 55 for flatheads.
All tackle records are Blue 78lbs, Channel 33lbs, flathead 68lbs. Something tells me there are some big cats there!

I've heard Ivie is a big sleeper lake, good blues to be caught if you have the patience. There was some guys on here a few years back that were catching some good ones out of there and posting pics.

are you above 12 mile bridge or below it, all that above is just river now, all the way down to dead mans bluff. Fish are there if you can get access. Private access is tough on Ivie, and public access is very limited. Hopefully it will fill again some day.I boat fish it primarily and have a place at kenedy park. yes you need to make friends with the neighor.
