Hey all, Saturday I will be bringing my 4yr old boys to do some fishing with Grandpa up at Texoma. I was wondering if anyone could give me a good direction. I was thinking about possibly hitting up the island... or now peninsula... near Big Mineral Equestrian? I don't care what I catch, would just like to put my boys on a fish or two. Thanks, DRF

Try to be there early, before sunrise, you may catch some sandbass, or small stripers.

I would take them to the Marina at Eisenhower...everywhere else might be to rough on a 4yr old and Gramps to get to do "decent" fishing due to lake level IMHO
Good Luck!

Good Luck! Not a bad idea. That sometimes island is cool. I like to night fish it for cats, but like all the other islands pretty much...during the day you'll be fishing out in the sun with no shade and it's gonna be a scorcher they say. The little one will not do well in that sun and heat I'd think. Moon is dead on about coming early if you choose to fish there. Fishing a marina would be great. especially if it had places to fish that were covered. I'm not familiar with that marina so I don't know the layout. If you can fish at the cleaning stations that's a great place to put your son and Gramps on some good catfishing.
