dropped down to the river after lunch today ..... hit it about 1 pm ..... what a slam fest of slam fests for the trinity river .... about half a dozen black bass and around 20 or more crappie ! WOW ! I saw what I thought was a large under water rock formation I didn't recall ever seeing before .... then the shadow moved slowly into the shadows of the bridge .... Ketchn knows what that means for sure .....  K A B O O M time BIGTIME  I will load up a ton of pictures later .... what a festival of festivals ... and one of the best parts ..... one of my original favorite presentations ... a big ole road runner head with a super long chart sparkle curly tail

so onto the fish story ..... first cast ...black bass 6 fow on a rock/concrete pile almost convinced myself the bait was waste of time as it neared the shore from the other side

second cast nice Mohawk crappie out in deeper water ...say 9 foot...close to the middle of the river KABOOM

a straight up hour of a bite EVERY cast .... man what an episode ..... white crappie black crappie black bass what a nice spot in the shade today it was K A B O O M

used up 3 bodies on this bait ... managed to keep the head on till the paint was getting wore off I think the bait was rick clunn maybe ? on sale at wally world a dollar a pack KABOOM

so here is the "scoop" ....pitch to the opposite side DO NOT run the bait across the bottom the fish were suspended up under a huge bait ball most of the fish came out of 9 foot er so of water about 6 foot down best I could tell ... the bites were very hard and so were the fights ... lost a few ...one felt fairly large what a nifty spot and as always all the fish were released to fight on ... KABOOM
