I'm pretty serious about bass fishing, but now that my wife wants to go fishing with me on our weekend trips, I'd like to take her out one of those evenings, tie up somewhere and just catfish.
I was wondering, I use to buy a package of frozen shrimp which worked real well when I fished for them thirty years ago. It stayed on the hook and was easy to deal with.
What depth are you guys fishing? Are you staying mainly on channel edges and bends?
We fish out of Popes Landing , so anything around there that we could try , and also does the shrimp still work.
Don't worry, I'm sure we won't make much of a dent in the Catfish population.
Thanks in advance

Stubbys cheese bait has always shown good results. Good luck and some others should chime in with better info

Are you still at Popes? I have a spot there and can guide you in the right direction.

This time of year we've always done real well right off the 515 bridge on the bottom or under a bobber. Shrimp, cut shad, live bluegills or minnows. You name it they are all up and down that bridge. We fish the north west side usually. You can take a good spotlight and scan up in the shallow waters at night and spot big cats feeding. Take the light off them and cast up their way and BOOM! It's a blast. You'll pick up some nice LMBs in the process too!
