I have trouble finding a time when my grand kids have time to fish, they are extremely busy. Today My daughter, Kellye, and two grand daughters Kennedy and Grace were able to some over to fish with PawPaw. We started it out Saturday evening with Grace and Kennedy's favorite...PawPaws Baby Back ribs. Sunday morning we decided on Gibbons Creek, after seeing the crowd that was at Somerville on Saturday. Winds were light out of the east when we got there, then changed to South as the morning went on. First spot no fish, only stayed five minutes, it just did not feel like the right conditions for that place. Next spot, Grace got a fish first cast. She proceeded to catch 10 of the first 12 caught. At one point Grace said, "cast right there PawPaw"...Mom, told her she was asking too much, and just as I placed the cork exactly where Grace had requested, Grace replied, "Mom, this is PawPaw casting you know"...Made PawPaw feel good, LOL. A cast or two later, I cast for Grace and intentionally landed about 6' to the right of where I had been casting her line...Grace said PawPaw, you are not in the Honey Hole, and as I handed her the pole, her cork disappeared and Fish On. Her Mom told her not to doubt where PawPaw cast her line. LOL. They ended the morning with 37 cats to clean and take home, after another round of ribs. All fish caught on CJ's Crawdad punch bait, under corks, in 4-6 ft water.
