Fish deeper, XD-5 crankbait, Carolina Rig or cast a Texas Rig in the grass.

Plenty active everywhere I have been, though a bit finicky some places. Weightless texas rigged trick worms along grass lines generally do the trick almost everywhere though... I generally try to find them with a texas rigged craw, then find out if there are bigger ones in the bunch with a chatter bait... seems to work well for me but to each their own, right? I will say I haven't had any luck with chrome or gold blades on any days when black is killing it consistently so I've avoided flashy baits personally in favor of baits that move water.

I've had to decrease the size of my baits. Still catching the same size fish but they haven't been hitting the larger baits.

I decided to start fishing like "winter" and fishing super slow. It's paid off....surprisingly enough I'm getting top water bites as well.

Stay patient grasshopper!

it was 4-2....my wife and I caught a couple others...3-11 was the only other biggun. We caught a few mudcats as well. (I had a pole out for carp with bread balls)

Small baits. They won't hit a standard size chatterbait. Also depends on how blue the water is from the dye they put in there. The smaller ones will be around the shoreline, the bigger ones will naturally be out deeper. Small top waters later in the day work well. 4 inch senko's will produce as well. (Weightless, wacky or texas rigged)

sounds like a plan! I'm excited to try a new spot! I caught a couple 10in'ers on my lunch in the pond across from my office on a texas-rigged craw bait...gotta fish before it's 100 degrees this weekend.

I have had some success with a weightless Texas-rigged Zoom Trick Worm and small topwater baits like hula poppers.
