The struggle to get to the dam end of Athens was worth it yesterday... I had two bigger fish that pulled so hard and stripped clamped down drag so effortlessly I almost peed my pants while they were on.. One wrapped me around a dock and snapped 20 lb test with no problems and the other bulldogged me into a grass mat and by the time I got to it through the beach ball of alligator weed it had shaken the hook... Big senkos and t rigs in 10-20... Lots of 15-16s c rigging that big point west of the dam but the better fish were in deeper grass...

gutcheck; there's a road leading right up to the dam; I've never launched off of the dam because of the high grass,weeds, and brush but it looks doable on the south side. I've heard reports that they were gonna fence up that road but don't think they have. nice fish-p-

That is where I got my biggest bass ever,12 pounder. Left end of the dam. Also got 2- 8 pounders on the right end.
