"If it swims I'll catch it and if its wild I'll hunt it!!!"

There is a limit as to how close you can fish to another competitor without his ok. KVD did nothing wrong, just protecting the water he was fishing.

I don't think they have that rule in the Elites. Remember in 2008 when Velvick fished on top of Martins. Just a code of ethics and Ike tried to come in and fish around KVD when he had not fished there the first three days . There is a limit as to how close you can fish to another competitor without his ok. KVD did nothing wrong, just protecting the water he was fishing.

no proximity rule there (unless it was just recently added to the books), but the generally accepted ettiquite says if you fish a spot in practice and/or each tounament day then you have a right to come in on it. They tend to get twisted up when a guy comes in on a spot late in the T, especially when the guys there have committed to that area the whole tournament. by elite ettiquette standards KVD wasn't out of line, and he couldn't force Ike to not fish there. Ike did the right (and classy) thing by pulling his TM and going elsewhere. I thought it was funny when Ike said "It's a community hole!" and KVD retorted "yeah but you ain't part of the community!" I read the story in the original post which states- Kevin then moved his boat in front of Ike, in what appeared to be an effort to protect the spot. Then Kevin said, "You think that's cool?" According to the video it didn't go down like that; it shows Kevin staying where he is at and asks Ike "you think that's cool" - it doesn't look at all from the video like Kevin moves in front of Ike, he simply verbally confronted him, no harm in that if Ike hadn't been on the spot all week.

There's also a limit on what is and isn't "your spot"... generally, your spot is defined as the spot you're in. The length of that spot varies by rules and common courtesy, but as stated, KVD wasn't there and came back while Ike was, and acted childishly IMHO. Not sure how anyone can look at this objectively and think Ike was in the wrong. He handled it better than I would have expected someone to, let alone someone renowned for 'going Ike'

I call BS on that statement. KVD, Russ Lane and Jeff Kriet were there all day! You don't know. There is a limit as to how close you can fish to another competitor without his ok. KVD did nothing wrong, just protecting the water he was fishing. There's also a limit on what is and isn't "your spot"... generally, your spot is defined as the spot you're in. From the article I would say KVD was in the right and Ike the wrong. From the video (which is hard to lie) I think KVD was totally in the wrong calling IKE out like that. He could have nicely told IKE it was his, but instead he made the "cool" comment in not a great tone. Ike never had a bad tone and basically told KVD he was sorry, said KVD could have been a little nicer about it (which he could have), and then IKE left immediately. From video you could tell that several anglers were lined up on the drop too, KVD and IKE weren't only ones.
Competitive Fishing:
KVD 1 - Ike 0
Nice Guy:
Ike 1 - KVD 0

I thought it was great and KVD in true fashion told IKE to leave and then clearly spoke to the camera and basically said that he doesn't like IKE. The reason IKE left so easily is because he knew that he was crossing a line by pulling up that close to someone that doesn't like him at all. I don't really like IKE either but I think both Anglers did the right thing. KVD called him out without being concerned about what anyone would think and IKE knows that he is not one of KVD's friends and that he was pushing it by pulling in on him and therefore left. No harm either way.

Really dude? He's a d-bag for asking Ike if he "thinks that's cool"? I seriously question your judgement of character brother. So then I'm sure we are all "confused" when we witness something like this ( http://youtu.be/NiOo4mLyn5Y) on national TV and are still to believe it's just passion. A good sportsman always tosses his intentionally broken tackle into a lake, which is essentially littering, right? Cause I see guys who are just as passionate like Kriet or Evers do the same thing. There is a reason why the "many" feel the way they do about him. You're the one that's lost....
