this thread has potential....first neg comment about a fire dept I believe I have ever read. I'm sure the lil pole just simply fell off the back of the boat while going across the lake in an attempt save a cat off of a stump....

LOL Louie and Yes Doug it's a volunteer fire dept That could use a little help in getting things more organized I found this out 3-4 yrs ago fighting brushfires with our volunteer fire dept in the same areas with them a time or two. It wouldn't surprise me if the chief wasn't in the boat with them.

In 1992 or 93 I was outside of Tyler, Texas off duty when I observed a fire truck smash the back of a Trooper that was trying to turn around on 155 .. knocked the Camero into the ditch.....I got to it just as it caught fire....Trooper was semiconscious but would not try to open the door....I got my fingers over the glass and managed to pop it...I got him unbuckled and pulled him out and dragged him far enough to be safe from the burning car....
It was a Noonday fire truck!! 20+ years ago..... volunteers..... good hearts, sometimes poor results.
