Would you rather fish alone or with somebody?

For me it really depends. If the bass are biting really well I kind of like to go by myself just to be greedy so I can catch them all lol. But for the most part I like to go with someone so we can share our experiences and what not together and figure out a pattern quicker, etc.

With somebody unless I have time restrictions. I don't like to impose my time restrictions on someone else's fishing. If I only have a few hours to go out i'll usually go by myself. But I prefer to go with people.

I like going with someone. Even if I end up not catching anything I like seeing others pull them in.

I wasted too much time years ago at boat ramps waiting on my fishing "buddies" to show up. OR, get a call at 3am that my "buddies" can't make it, even after I loaded up my extra yak and gear for them to use. I stopped calling. I have limited time to fish, and I don't want to deal with that anymore. I don't hold it against them, i'm just serious about fishing. I love taking my son every chance I get. I'm usually very prepared, and take all safety precautions. My wife knows my location and times, and I put my pfd on at the truck and take it off at the truck when I get back. Now, when I get a call from another yak angler to fish, i'm there in a heartbeat.

some days i need my time away from everybody some.days its cool to go in groups. i agree that late friends drive me batty. when i say im pulling away from the docks at 06 that means 06. when i had friends that wanted to go in my boats i did not rely on them for anything. last time i did the guy that really wanted to help by bringing ice flaked out. luckily i had 40lbs that i brought so i made it but ya need 100 going off shore.
kayaking is easier. i got my stuff and its 100% self contained. so when peeps dont show they just dont go.

I prefer going with someone or a group just incase something bad happens. No matter how much & well you prepare, there's an off chance something bad might happen that you can't get out of alone.

I usually fish alone due to my work schedule. When I plan an outing with someone else, it is usually limited to just a few individuals that I have done quite a bit of fishing with in the past, and they are all experienced fishermen and yak pilots with their own equipment. Our rule is if your not there at launch time, you get left behind and have to paddle out by yourself.
I hate to sound elitist or hardcore but when I go fishing, I am there to fish. Not to teach someone how fish or how to tie knots or how to work a dropshot rig or how to keep their kayak from plowing into the rest of us while the fish are on the bite. Not that I don't feel like every one needs a chance to learn, and I relish the opportunity to teach them. Just not on my fishing trips. I will take people out to learn and paddle and give instruction and fishing tips but those are not my fishing trips. I go on those teaching paddles with the assumption that I am going to be doing little to no fishing whatsoever and need to be focused on whomever I am instructing. If I get a few casts in and get some fish, that is a bonus.

I'd rather have another person with me.
like the man says...if you're swimming in the ocean and get bitten by a shark, its not a shark attack. You're in THEIR neighborhood. If you're at home in your shower, turn around and a shark is in there with you...THAT'S a shark attack

I don't like having to work around other people's schedules, and when I fish with friends, we end up heading separate ways anyways not too long after launching. I enjoy fishing tournaments with others, and I have a few close friends the I enjoy river trips with. However, too many people assume that because they have a kayak they're in some kind of brotherhood and everyone wants to fish with them. Sorry, just about every body had a yak these days (it seems), that's no indication that I'm going to enjoy fishing with you or get along with you, or consider you a friend. Going fishing with random people off of Facebook is not my idea of a good time, if we meet on the water, and at tournaments, and get to know each other, cool, we're friends, let's go fishing.
