My favorite is fishing with my son......I don't have to worry about accommodating him like I do everyone else. I like fishing alone, also.

I'd like to think I help people from the back of the boat, as someone on the other end of this topic. I don't care about being back boated, I don't care if we aren't in fish, I keep fishing hard all day. I come happy and leave happier no matter what transpires, because it's a day on the lake. I try to avoid snags and hang ups more than I might if I was controlling the boat, and make sure I get les and get out of more on my own than whoever is up front. I push myself to adapt to whoever I am fishing with not expect them to fish my way (even if I'm catching more/better fish) because they have no obligation to. My only fault is that I tend to be chatty because I love talking about fishing. I think sometimes this can be off putting though I try to pick up on it if my partners don't like chatting, and I am much less talkative if its tourney time and my boater is stoic. But fun fishing its hard not to talk. I generally garner a lot of laughs and smiles though as I am a pretty funny guy... but I bet most grown men don't have the childish wonder and delight talking about fishing like I do. I know a lot of people that fish like I do but very few who enjoy posing and answering questions and discussing it at length as much as I do.

I also tend to out fish people form the back of the boat... not trying to brag or anything of that nature. All of the people I boat with are far more accomplished and skilled anglers than I am... I just tend to catch better fish. The only place I get out fished consistently or skunked along side someone is inside boat slips/marina. Pitching boat stalls isn't something you can really practice anywhere but on the water doing it and I stink at it. I don't work water nearly that quick and methodical and like to really hit a spot and cut it apart for a bit patiently if it were up to me, and generally when the boat ends up in one spot too long I'm on the back reeling in good'ns.

Evidently I don't fish well alone, I blanked in an Individual Tournament on Rayburn yesterday.

We fish 3 to a boat alot, I think it makes me a better angler as im either in the middle or the back deck but can and will move to the front. We sort of have a system..rodney runs the tm and hits every single laydown, stump, reed or rockpile and we then hit the same ones eeks it all seems to work but yes fishing alone is nice sometimes

When I was younger I would rather fish alone. Now I rarely fish unless I have a partner.

I fish better alone for a lot of the reasons already stated but I would always prefer to have someone with me who enjoys it.

Yes I do. I don't have to worry about putting the back seat guy on fish. I can also experiment or try new areas methodically working them out to see if they will be productive. I also lose track of time and the next thing I know its 3pm or the wifey calls me....

I fish alone. It can be fun to take somebody but I feel more like I need to get them in position to catch. When I'm by myself, I might turn and cast over the outboard, or in funny directions. I also like to listen to my MP3 player and get my twitching in rhythm with my favorite tunes. I don't feel rushed.

I fish alone most of the time but enjoy having someone with me that can keep the pace, especially if we get on some good fish......

I fish much better relaxing on the back deck. Let someone else deal with the TM and such.

All depends on the mood I'm in. If I wanna power fish ill invite one of my brothers, if I'm gonna spend a lot of time finnesse fishing ill take my dad or go solo. Me and dad can sit on tbe boat for hours without saying a word, I'm pretty much a carbon copy of him so we get along pretty well. If I'm bouncing a square bill around timber I enjoy more energy on the boat. Solo I just end up losing track of time and staying out all day.

Just an FYI that tournament was in 2005, it was 2008 when BC laid the law on RR.
