Guys we are doing a series of videos on big crankbait rods, if you have one of the following rods and would be willing to participate please send me a PM. Dobyns 806CB, Power Tackle XLC-3-7'11", Kistler KLXMRO711H, 13 Fishing Envy Blacn Crankenstein, St Croix legend TBC710HM or Cashion XD cranking rod. If you do not have one of these but have discovered another rod you think may be the ultimate big crankbaoit (think 10XD), please reach out to me through PM as well. Thanks, Ken

I use the Power Tackle you have listed and the 7' 11" Duckett White Ice A-Rig/Big Swimbait Heavy Action rods for these applications. The Duckett model # is DFWI711H-C

You should also consider the Castaway Skeleton XDD 7'6" Crankbait Rod. It is specifically designed to fish/cast the 10XD crankbait. It has sufficient backbone without the tip being "too limber" or "too mushy". It has a reasonable price and the company is here in Texas!

I have 2 Musky custom built St. Croix Avid rods built in 2000 that work well on the big boys. One is a 4.9 power one is a 6.1 power. To bad I live in west Texas.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Custom angle rods makes a rod for the 10xd crankbait. It's in their Hot Rod series blanks. It handles all the big crankbaits with very little stress on you. Check them out at www.customanglerods.com

I have two 10xd rods, one is a prototype castaway 7'11" that eventually they turned into one of their regular models, I think it is now either the "launcher", or the DD22 special? .. it is a great one for the big cranks.
my other I bought as a backup, but is quickly turning onto one I throw a lot.. it is a 7'11" bps CRANKING STICK..
It was @ $99 at BPS and is freakin awesome.. it is a graphite rod but fishes a lot like a glass rod.. for the money I haven't seen a better one out there...

Most of the roods mentioned are graphite, but the KVD and BPS are composite rods.

I am going to be ordering my Abu Garcia Veritas Winch crankinging rod here soon, nothing fancy but if I can be of any assistance let me know I suppose!

I am very curious to see how this rod specifically performs, given I have first hand experience with many of the others form the line up and they all have way to much power, hoping the medium heavy moderate taper will be the trick since the fast taper medium heavy are just brutal IMO

I've got a Lamiglas XCC 885 that I'm going to try with big crankbaits. Have not had a chance to do so yet. It's 8'8", one piece, 4-12 ounce lure weight, 15-40 lb line weight, moderate/fast action and medium/heavy power.

It's a BEAST.
