i will ask this to all of yall. the cliff regs.
1. if i go out there where is the spot where the rocks dont exist and what bait would be the most productive for cats?
2. any other fish around I.E bass bream ect that i can mess with while waiting for the cats?
3. should i chum and if yes what would work rather well?
4. is there any place near by to catch live bait?
5. what would be the best route to get there from arlington. or any major interstate/state highway coming from the south?
6. almost forgot is there an entrance fee? and if so how much?

thx for any and all help

tart,to get there 114 /121 past bass pro dr.take next exit 2499 approx 7 miles to 3040 go left 1st street is Mckamy take a left continue straight deadends to Simmons take a left you'll enter Murrell Park at the bottom of the hill take the 1st right towards lil pete's restraraunt/Marina after stopping at a 3 way stop sign look for public bathrooms on the left,turn right in front of the bathrooms,1st left about 50/75 yds you will pass a small road that you can only turn right on that has parking for some of the camp sites also leads to where you will be able to see some of the slips at Twin Coves Marina about the only area that doesn't have alot of rock,or continue to the top of the hill that leads to a parking lot for the cliffs.
In warm weather there is usually lots of bream /bait along the rocks of the shoreline,they have all but disappeared who_knows
You should probably chum-range cubes rabbitfood pellets,sweet corn,field corn etc.
If you are chasing cats,we catch them on just about anything you throw out there sweet corn,dough,bollies,night crawlers and frozen shrimp will work too!
there is no fee to enter the park,there is a no alcohol rule generally enforced and I belive there is a burn ban as well
I'm sure some of the other regulars will chime in,post when your going you may get some company. wink
also if my directions are a lil screwy you can always do a search for Murrell Park directions in the archives and come up with something you can use.Not trying to discourage you but things have slowed some since it's gotten cooler!

tart,

FM3040 = Long Prairie Rd.
FM2499 = International Parkway
FM1171 = Cross Timbers Road

Are you confused yet? Welcome to Texas.

The intersection of 3040 and 2499 Rudy is talking about has a Chick-Fil-A on your direct left, a Walgreens on your direct right, an Albertson's to your left across Flower Mound Rd. and a Tom Thumb to your right across 3040. If you turn left at that intersection you are turning on Flower Mound Rd. If you turn right at that intersection you are turning on Long Prairie Rd. and 3040. 3040 actually ends where it meets 2499 so when you turn left you are not actually turning on 3040, just Flower Mound Rd.

Regardless of all of the above, turn left (west) at the Chick-Fil-A. There are 2 left turn lanes to get'er'done.

Hope that helps.

Kevin
