I hear a lot of good anglers say they like the fall just as good or better than the spring. What water temps and different things of you you key on in during the cooler temps to locate fish? What is your best application? I love to throw a jig that time of year but I do hunt during that season so don't have a lot of water time during fall and winter...this year I plan on fishing more

Baitfish migrating shallower and the bass chasing them. The bass school big time in the fall and are a blast to catch. I like fishing a lot of the same areas I fished in the spring. After that first good cold snap it gets good on moving baits. After a couple more cold snaps the jig bites gets going full bore.

I ;ove fishing Fork in the late fall. Nothing beats having a lot of the lake to yourself. Take your time getting on the water and usually catch some good numbers with some solid fish in the mix. Fish till late evening and then go in and watch MNF if its Monday or Thursday Night ball if its a Thursday. Cannot beat m-F during that time of year into winter on Fork. Can be a crazy swimbait and squarebill bite. You got the flutter spoon bite as well as frogs and topwaters. Lots of fun.

Got a week of vacation the first week of November, plan on spending Sunday thru Thursday at lake fork!

Thanks for the tips, I love the square bill fishing.

Exactly what Mark said. Fall is my favorite time to fish. There is times when you can find a good cove and just beat the bank with a sq bill and catch them like crazy.

Fall fishing is something I haven't been able to do much of for the last 33 years of coaching football. Since I have retired, I will be doing more of it. It was one of my favorite times back in the day.

Didn't realize you had retired. Congrats and thanks for the time you spent molding boys into men.
