I know the shad spawn has turned the bite off but has anyone had any luck in the last month? I fish the Wednesday tourney and have been struggling a bit for the past 3 weeks or so. Any tips or tricks?
Also anyone need or want a partner to fish with when my buddy and his boat are outta town on Alavardo's tourney?

The soft plastic bite has been good for me on soft plastics, both mornings and mid-day

Were in the dreaded summer time bite now.

If you could keep the freaking idiot wake boarders and jet skiers away youd get em.
Every time I go out there, the idiots run right over my spots and ruin it.

Good luck

dunno what lake Alvarado yall are fishing... went out there for the first time and ages for 4th and it fished great! I had a nice 4.5-5lb fish on the chatter bait off the dam and the guy with me had a load of smaller fish pitching paka craws in the reeds all around the lake, fish were insanely active, and we didn't even get on the water until after 4. Even as active as they were you couldn't buy a top water bait or get hit on anything very fast moving, or flashy. I don't tourney fish there, but my buddy's brother lives there.

Caught them right in the middle of the "idiot wake boarders and je skiers" just fine, just like I do on Lewisville. Share the lake... fish and be merry!

P.S.

You'll know if you catch my fish within the next week or so I'm sure...sucker took me to a knee playing him and I new I had him skin hooked but deep back in the mouth, played him well and landed him but he managed to put an almost 3 inch rip in the roof of his mouth dragging the hook point along the inside of his mouth. Probably sounds worse than it was, but all the same, share if you re-catch my buddy! Guessing he might be a bit bite shy for a minute though if he has any memory and instincts at all

We tried to match the hatch to no avail. Even went outta our comfort zone and fished different spots. @ Skeeter, yeah Im gonna keep fishing it. When my fishing partner is in town of course, I no longer have a boat.
Thanks for the tips guys. Happy fishing!
