My last 3-4 trips out to fish Twin Coves have been terrible. 6:30am-9:30am? Terrible. 6pm - 8:30 pm? Just as bad.

If anyone knows a location where the fish are actually biting in the Dallas area, I'd love to hear from you, because ain't nothin biting here except for Longear baitfish. bang

I have to disagree with you. This time of the year, there are lots lots biting, but not from the fishes, from mosquitos. grin

Joe Pool had the worst year ever. The spring spawn was too deep because of the temp, and because of the wind the sand bass run never happened.
The crappie and sand bass shad chasing was way too deep this year.
The largemouths follow the shad under the crappie and sand bass so they were no shows.
Now it is summer and maybe a small cat is all you can expect till fall

I tore it up last Tuesday at Grapevine. Caught at least 15 Black, with the biggest coming in @5#s. Then about every hour the Sandbass would boil right in front of us. My girlfriend had similar results. We were going pond jumping but the fishing was so good we never left.

Sorry to hijack the thread just a little, but does anyone know if there is bank access along the dam at Grapevine? Doesn't seem to be any places to park along the road there, but I was just making sure it wasn't a restricted area or inaccessible for other reasons.

HatCamBass,

The closest thing I've seen is the Silverlake park area, just outside of Silverlake Marina.
