Here is a few pictures and a video of a 5 pound bass that I caught a few days ago while fishing on my lunch break. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/usergals/2014/07/full-57365-17846-imag1361.jpg)

Those ponds have boom/bust cycles. I have been fishing them since the 1980s and there will be just the right mix of fish in there to get some big bass, some close to 10 pounds. Then, there will be either too many panfish or a fish kill that wipes them all out.
The secret to those ponds is that the water is clear and deep, with lots of good habitat for big bass to hide out in.

Thanks guys. I like fishing there for sure. That's the 2nd 4+ pound bass I've pulled out of there in the last 30 days. It's funny that I'm catching them all during the middle of the day. Looks like ove been in the right place at the right time with the right lure.

Looks like ove been in the right place at the right time with the right lure. Go early in the morning or in the evening and you'll see why you catch them in the middle of the day. They get so much pressure during "peak" hours they are practically conditioned to get lock jaw. I primarily fish it during the heat of the day or late at night to avoid the crowd and pressure. Nice fish btw.

Nice fish btw. Right before a big storm rolls in is when I have caught my larger fish there. When the clouds are green and boiling, that is the time to hit that place. I always have the best luck with deep running crankbaits there. The largest fish are down there really deep.
