Where you staying and what water transportation do you have. What are you wanting to fish for? Whites and hybrids or catfish?

Trolling the island points and the dropoffs out from Sowell Creek Park with deep divers or roadrunner type jigs with a rubber trailer will always catch something. Most of the bait shops around the lake sell 1/2 oz Roadrunner or Tad jigs. Proctor has a shallow thermocline during the hot summer months so most whites and hybrids are caught above 10 to 12 feet even in the deeper water. There is an abundance of shad to be caught with cast nets if you enjoy live baiting.

KG68 Have you fished Proctor this year? No I haven't. I was there Memorial Day and it rained all weekend. I had pulled my downriggers off for the kids and grans to tube and ski anyway. I trolled some last year on holiday weekends and caught a few whites but no hybrids. Mostly been jugging for blues since the big fish kill. I see they are still still stocking and I hope it makes it back to where it was years ago. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fish/action/stock_bywater.php?WB_code=0594
