So a few days ago i went to Winniford park in McKinney with a few poppers and some woolly buggers. Here is what happened:

First fish of the evening was a nice sunfish.

Next there were a ton of bluegill big and small.

Surprise bass slams a woolly bugger. Look at that monster.

Right after the release of the bass, I hear what sounds to be something struggling in the water. It didn't sound big but when I looked over I could see something flailing around on top of the water. To my surprise laying there in between the rocks was a diamondback water snake,(non venomous but they are the largest water snake in Texas and can grow up to 8ft in length) In its mouth was a small catfish. I'm not sure how this catfish had fallen prey to the snake, but I assume the snake was swimming around, saw the catfish and dove under after it.

My first reaction was "what the....?"
I looked at it for a few seconds and thought "I need to take a picture of this!"

After the snake nothing else interesting happened but i still caught some big bluegill.

Got to love those little yellow poppers. Bluegill killers. The evening bite for bass is so slow lately I always end up fishing for bluegill with the little yellow popper.

Yeah i was surprised by that bass taking the woolly bugger because the only people who were catching any bass were using minnows or worms.

Nice bream. Grandpa always said the bream bite better when the sweat is dripping down your crack. smile

Open your eyes & look within, are you satisfied with the life youre living.

No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life. Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs.
