I will be fishing by myself for the first time in the next couple of weeks and would like to know what you guys think as far as nets go. I know some will say a net is a net but I've used some in the past that hooks bury themselves into and it becomes a real pain. Thanks for any feedback.

I bought the Ego Slider as well, It floats but, look for a place to store it. It's going to take up some room but, LOL, if it goes over the side..no problem....FLOATS. BTW, there is an optional accessory you can buy as well. Lure retriever that will screw on and replace the net head. Good net!! I believe, if my old memory serves me right, comes in two different lengths. God Bless

why do you want a net ? ,,,,unless you are fishing a tournament. I try to get my fish to jump and spit the hook so I don't have to land them and remove it. Just lip that sucker if it doesn't throw the hook and you get it to the boat. Much easier that way.

Oh yeah ,,,,,, if you use the 100lb braid as some recommend on here, you can just hoist a 10 pounder into the boat without worry of breaking your line.

Frabill Sportsman 17" x 19" Teardrop Landing Net. This is the net I use when fishing by myself because it does not have a telescoping handle. It is easy to use with one hand and it lands "big fish" for its size.

Frabil makes a real nice crankbait net that is made out of some rubberized polymer stuff that wont snag on treble hooks... you can also get one with a flat bottom that makes getting fish in/out of it way easier!
They have em at academy and dicks here where I am, so I would start there...
I think the model I saw had a nice long handle and was about $35.

lol and you guys are crazy with your net superstitions... I thought the same thing the day I bought my scale, and my buddy washingtonbass caught a 8lb fatty. so take the net... you will be even madder when you have a SAL on your line, and she spits your senko in your face right at the edge of the boat...lol trust me, my best one this year came off at the boat, it is a heartbreaker
