Cut perch, drum and carp are good baits

I don't jug line, but I think live perch would work well. Any live or cut non game fish like bullheads, carp, buffalo, and drum would be good, perch are just easy to get.

If I can't get shad, perch or some other cut bait I'll use shrimp. But not bait shrimp, get the shrimp meant for human comsumption at the grocery store.

Pink Zote soap. You won't catch anything but catfish.

Rednecks catfish soap is better if you can get a slab of it.

Rednecks Catfish Soap is excellent, but Pink Zote is $1.50 at Walgreens and I can make about 150 - 200 baits out of it, depending on the size I want to use.

Some people melt it down and add other flavors to it, but it is as effective without all that. Just to take a bar of it and cut it into small squares, and put a circle hook through it.

me too. how do you fish with it

I used to cut it up with a wire in to cubes. Heat the hook with a lighter and it'll melt through a piece of soap and not split it. It works best on set lines.
